You definitely need an element of fitness and the right walking gear - not trainers/sneakers - invest in decent walking boots and warm clothing. The trip is very well organised. Our guide, Kristopher, was amazing and had the patience of a saint with our particular group. Our walk on the glacier was almost cancelled due to strong winds but Kristopher took us to the waterfalls and black sand beach before lunch so he could assess the weather conditions in the afternoon to ensure it was safe for us to trek the glacier.
